Construction has officially commenced on a project to upgrade the reclaimed water reuse rate at PetroChina Urumqi Petrochemical. Located in the inland northwest, Xinjiang faces a scarcity of water resources; thus, the industrial utilization of reclaimed water is a crucial strategy for overcoming water-supply bottlenecks hindering the development of the region's water-intensive industries. By upgrading the multi-media filtration system within the advanced wastewater treatment unit, constructing a new carbon adsorption and sedimentation tank, renovating the sludge dewatering facility, and installing a DCS control system, the project optimizes the feed water quality for the dual-membrane system. The resulting reclaimed water is reused as make-up water for the plant's circulating water system, effectively reducing fresh water consumption and supporting the green, low-carbon development of the regional energy industry.
The project is being executed by CSCEC Installation, marking the company's first energy-sector project in Xinjiang. The project team is committed to strictly adhering to the management standards of the energy and chemical plant, advancing construction to a high standard, and leveraging this practical experience to deepen its presence in the Northwest's environmental protection and water sectors, thereby contributing to industrial water conservation and ecological protection in Xinjiang.
